Today I'd like to give my many Thanks to the legendary and beloved former president of Nintendo, Japan: Satoru Iwata. Ten years ago, Iwata unfortunately passed away from complications from a tumor he had that while removed, didn't solve his medical issues. As a result, he passed away at fifty-five in two-thousand and fifteen on this day, June eleventh.
If it wasn't for Mister Iwata, we probably wouldn't have the franchises we had today like Pokémon and Kirby. By far my favorite thing he did was help with the development of Mother 2, which would become what we know as EarthBound in the west. EB is my favorite game ever, and the fact that it wouldn't have gone as well as it did in development if this man wasn't here to restart the project and push it in the right direction.
I don't know what else to say except we all remember you fondly, Satoru Iwata, and will continue to do so until the end of time.
Rest In Paradise, Satoru Iwata. May You Be Eternally Blessed.
I Miss You.
